The Night Off

Jen and i had the night off on Saturday! We woke up in the morning......at 8:30!!!!!! although i know we were both awake at 7am! Turned on the TV in the bedroom and relaxed with a hot cup of tea and watched the news. Ahhhh the simple things in life.
We watched as our freinds ran around after their toddlers on Saturday night and it gave me an idea of what i'm in for once the girls are walking. I just hope my girls aren't as crazy as those kids!

So.....Jaidyn has decided she doesn't want to sleep this afternoon. She thinks it's quite funny too. She's carryin' on like a pork chop, rolling around her crib making all sorts of noises while Kaitlyn, who obviously didn't sleep well last night, is tired and wants to sleep but she can't because her sis is keeping her awake! Needless to say, she's not happy about it! I walk in and she's kneeling in the corner again, tears streaming down her face. I pick her up to calm her down and then i try to settle Jaidyn down to help her go to sleep but she thinks it's the funniest thing that's ever happened. I take Jaidyn out of the room and put her on our bed. 5 minutes later i check on Kaitlyn........out like a light! Jaidyn on the other hand is still blowing raspberries and talking to herself.......

Time To Relax

How many parents of twin 9 month olds can go to a Starbucks with their kids in tow and still be able to sit, enjoy a coffee, read the newspaper and relax for 30 to 45 minutes? Not many i'm sure! They're such good babies right now. They're happy to hang out and smile at passers-by, suck on their fingers or play with a toy. Those parents out there that don't agree with getting babies onto a schedule....early, are crazy! It's the best thing you can do. It gives not only the children, but you stability in your daily life. You know that you're going to get a good night sleep unless the children are sick or they're going through a growth spurt....or they're teething! You know how to plan your days because you know when they're going to want to sleep, and you know they are actually going to sleep!

So Annoying!

Boys or Girls?

They're girls....hence the reason they're wearing dresses and sitting in their pink car seats!

Are you giving your wife the day off?

No, she's at work, someone has to earn money!

Oh don't you have your hands full today?

No, i have my hands full EVERY DAY!

Double trouble!

.....if i had a dollar for every time i've heard that. Say something original....please!

Oh aren't they cute!

Of course they are.....they're babies!

NO! I'm trying to get them to sleep!

I'm lucky enough to have twins that sleep well. A few times a week we'll go for a walk to a local Starbucks where i try to find a quiet corner, get a coffee, cake and the newspaper. I sit and relax while the girls entertain themselves or, more often than not, sleep. That is until some old lady stick her face in front of them and says, "oh they're so cute!". There goes the end of the nap!

It seems that when you have twins (maybe it's like this with all babies, i dunno) you lose all personal space. People seem to think they can just get in yours and your babies' face and think nothing of it! I had one lady just reach into their stroller and start tickling them! WTF?!

New Teeth

So it seems Jaidyn has a new tooth! Number 3 is breaking through.......it's gonna be a fun evening. Not good timing considering Mum has worked about 100 hours this week and is extremely tired and Dad has a chest infection and just wants to sleep.

The Blog Begins

The girls had their 9 month check up today. Pretty uneventful.......clean bill of health except Jaidyn needs her blood checked because her hemoglobin is a little low.

So i've been home with them for about 6 weeks now on top of the 3 month period from when they were 3 months to 6 months. I went back to work after that but it only lasted 5 weeks. I just couldn't stand them being in day care all day, 5 days a week, and neither could my wallet! We're actually better off now than we were when i was working. Of course, i'm now minus a car...... It's all good though, it's an adventure for us all!
